L'Antre Deux Mondes, a contemporary Third Stream octet, fuses modern jazz with classical chamber music. Founded by producer Richard Decamps, leader of the clarinet quartet Les Vents d’Anches (Marie-Hélène Adnet, Fanny Claes, Nicolas Cretu, Richard Decamps), who invited composer/alto saxophonist Julien Hucq to create a new work, the ensemble blends precise classical techniques with jazz improvisation. In 2019, Hucq composed a suite inspired by “forgotten constellations,” joined by Denis Vernimmen (piano), Adrien Tyberghein (double bass), and Jérôme Baudart (drums). Their genre-defying sound merges written forms with spontaneity, redefining chamber-jazz with an intimate yet expansive expression.
