Beat Draws turns live performance into a multi-sensory experience. Built around the original compositions of Belgian-born, New York–based saxophonist and bandleader Julien Hucq (Claudio Roditi, Omar Hakim), the ensemble weaves together the clarity of Bebop, the deep pulse of Gnawa rhythms, and the open possibilities of electronic sound. With Martin Daniel (Glü, Fokkop.era) on keyboards, Manolo Cabras (Toots Thielemans, Enrico Rava) on bass, Karim Ziad (Joe Zawinul, Nguyên Lê) on drums, and visual artist Egon –Thomas Hucq– (Rue des Pêcheries, Invisibles Collective) painting in real time, every concert becomes a conversation between music and image—energetic, unpredictable, and deeply immersive. It is jazz that refuses to stay still, and a stage that comes alive in more ways than one.
