Before Tigers is the alias of Laurent Delforge, a Belgian composer born June 1, 1982, and based in Brussels. A 2008 Royal Conservatory of Belgium graduate with a master’s in electro-acoustic music under mentors like Bernard Parmeggiani, Delforge explores diverse genres, from modern classical and acousmatic soundscapes to intricate electronic beat experiments. His music blends emotional warmth with digital precision, capturing ghostly pop beauty and narrative depth. Collaborating with choreographers and visual artists, his critically acclaimed A/V installations and dance pieces have been showcased in over 30 countries, including Belgium, Spain, China, and the U.S. Previously releasing as Squeaky Lobster, he now records for labels like 79Ancestors. Delforge co-founded the NONE composer collective with Thomas Vaquié and Simon Thierrée.
