On May 8, 2026, La Petite Halle turns into a giant dancefloor to celebrate Théo Ceccaldi’s birthday.

High-energy violinist, adventurous composer and insatiable sound explorer, Théo Ceccaldi is one of the most free and inspiring musicians of his generation. Revealed at the Victoires du Jazz and named Musician of the Year by Jazz Magazine, he has been forging a unique path for over ten years, at the crossroads of jazz, African music, pop, rap, and all the genres that make the body move.

Through his travels and collaborations — from Michel Portal to Mulatu Astatké, from Thomas de Pourquery to Sofiane Saidi, from Yom to Fatoumata Diawara and Mathieu Chedid — he has built a music that is open, generous and deeply alive. His project KUTU, created in Addis Ababa with Ethiopian singer Hewan Gebrewold, is the perfect example: a blazing mix of groove, trance and freedom.

For this special birthday evening, Théo Ceccaldi is thinking big: bringing together longtime companions on stage, inviting musician friends… and above all, laying the first stone of a new musical adventure.

A new project in the making, nourished by all the encounters of recent years from around the world — Ethiopia, Nigeria, Algeria, Tanzania, Uganda… A vibrant, collective music, deeply grooving, made for dancing, celebrating and sharing.

To launch this new story, he surrounds himself with an explosive dream team:

Gauthier Toux on keyboards (Photons, Léon Phal)

Élise Blanchard on bass (Oumou Sangaré, Melissa Laveaux)

Arthur Alard on drums (Léon Phal, Gabi Hartmann)

Fabe Beaurel Bambi on percussion (Laurent Bardainne, Nora Kamm)

And because a birthday is never celebrated alone, several surprise guests will join the stage to turn the evening into a real collective party.

Groove, improvisations, dance, reunions and burning-hot music:

On May 8 at La Petite Halle, we blow out the candles with music and movement.

A night to celebrate, to vibrate, and to invent what comes next.
