David Matthews is a pianist, arranger, and bandleader whose career reads like a history of modern jazz and funk. From arranging for James Brown and working as staff arranger for CTI Records to leading the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra and Manhattan Jazz Quintet in Japan, Matthews has done it all. His music has been sampled by hip-hop legends, performed on international stages, and recorded with some of the biggest names in the business. Now based in Japan, he continues to perform, record, and inspire.
