“Her artistic identity develops a distinctive contemporary jazz with Taiwanese Truku indigenous influences”
Edelyn Huang seems to exist in two places at once—Taiwan and New York, the jazz tradition and her Truku Indigenous heritage, the acoustic and the electronic. It's not a contradiction. It's the space she works in. She's a pianist and composer, but her music doesn't stay in one place for long. It shifts between bebop, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic textures, always returning to something that feels unmistakably her own. She's performed at Nublu in New York and the Taipei Riverside Festival, but those are just markers on a path that's still unfolding. Her music is an invitation to listen closely, to stay curious, and to follow where the sound leads. With a full-length album on the way, she's only just beginning.
“Edelyn Huang has performed at international stages including the Eric Dolphy Festival (New York) and Nublu, with a scheduled appearance at the Taipei Jazz Festival.”
