Eli Asher

Eli Asher is a versatile trumpeter based in New York City, known for his work across jazz, contemporary, and avant-garde styles. A key member of The Respect Sextet for nearly two decades, he blends improvisation with diverse musical idioms. Asher has performed with groups like the Bjorkestra, Bang on a Can’s Asphalt Orchestra, and Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, appearing at venues from the Blue Note to the Montreal Jazz Festival. He’s featured on over 25 recordings, including Whit Williams’ Down Beat-rated “Now’s The Time.” A graduate of Princeton University and the Eastman School of Music, Asher teaches at the Harlem School of the Arts and Bloomingdale School of Music.
