Eliott Knuets, a Belgian guitarist, began lessons at 6, exploring rock before embracing jazz at 12. Trained by Peter Hertmans and Bert Cools at Kunsthumaniora Brussel, he earned “TOP-Artist” status and joined the Royal Conservatory of Brussels as a “young talent.” At 16, he played with Wynton Marsalis in a session broadcast from New York’s Dizzy’s Club. By 17, he recorded his first album with Stéphane Guillaume and performed with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Eliott has since performed at BOZAR, Flagey, Bimhuis, Getxo Jazz Festival, Leuven Jazz Festival, and Athens Jazz Festival. In 2022, he began studies at Basel’s Jazz Campus under masters like Lionel Loueke and collaborated on a recording project with Jorge Rossy in Belgium and Switzerland. In 2023, he was “young artist in residence” at Leuven Jazz Festival, played with Aaron Parks, and won best arrangement with his Knuets/Secula quartet at Amsterdam’s “Keep an Eye” competition. He recorded three albums for Fresh Sound Records and toured France and Spain. Now pursuing a master’s degree, Eliott studies with Ambrose Akinmusire, focusing on composition.
