“A highly personal Afro-soul, full of energy and emotion, at the crossroads of Black Music influences.”
Emma Lamadji is a French-Central African vocalist, songwriter, and choir director based in Montpellier. Her voice is powerful and intimate, and her music moves freely between African music, jazz, gospel, and Afro-soul. She has opened for Liz McComb and Rhoda Scott, co-led the Afrobeat group Afrorockerz, and performed with Tony Allen and Oumou Sangaré. Her solo project, Afroplugged, brings these influences together in a deeply personal sound, moving between gospel and groove, intimacy and energy, English and Sango. She is also the choirmaster of the Gospelize It Project choir and a member of the duo Matyemah. With a distinctive voice and commanding stage presence, Emma Lamadji continues to build a musical identity that connects traditions, generations, and continents.
“The incredible singer Emma Lamadji expresses her immense range of emotions.”
