Feven Yoseph is an Ethiopian singer, songwriter, vocal educator, and researcher whose work bridges the rich musical traditions of Ethiopia with contemporary global sounds. Born and raised in Dessie, in the northern Amhara region of Ethiopia, she discovered music at an early age and developed a lifelong passion for the expressive and transformative power of the human voice.

She studied at the Mekane Yesus School of Jazz in Addis Ababa, where she later became one of the pioneering vocal educators of the institution, helping establish and develop one of Ethiopia’s first structured vocal training programs. During this period, she recorded her debut album, Chanting Soul, alongside some of Ethiopia’s most respected jazz musicians.

Driven by a desire to expand her artistic horizons, Feven moved to Germany, where she lived and worked in Berlin for nearly a decade. She earned her second degree in Music with a specialization in Vocal Performance from SRH University – School of Popular Arts, Berlin. During her years in Germany, she performed extensively with internationally acclaimed artists and educators including Marc Secara, Jocelyn B. Smith, Bene Aperdannier, Lily Dahab, and CAT, appearing at festivals, concert halls, and major performance venues across Europe.

As an artist, Feven’s music is rooted in a simple yet profound belief: music is the language of the soul. Drawing inspiration from Ethiopian modal traditions, jazz, soul, and contemporary music, she creates a sound that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Her voice serves as a vessel for connection, inviting listeners into a space of reflection, peace, and shared humanity.

Today, based in Addis Ababa, Feven continues her artistic work while conducting research into Ethiopian vocal traditions and coaching singers internationally through her institution, OneVoice Academy. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the classroom, her mission remains the same: to use music as a bridge between cultures and as a source of healing, unity, and inspiration.
