Julien Hucq
Julien Hucq, a Charleroi-born saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, has lived in NYC since 2012. Leading the Julien Hucq Quartet, he’s toured Europe and the U.S., performing at Birdland and Montreux Jazz Festival with artists like Claudio Roditi and Calvin Hill. His nine albums, including “Butterfly Whisperer,” blend jazz, classical, and pop, featuring George Cables and Omar Hakim. Hucq’s compositions, from bebop to funk, include works for Vents d’Anches Quatuor. He’s played with the Barry Harris Big Band and Tony Allen. Hucq holds a Master’s from Queens College, NYC.
