Le Monde Merveilleux de Pépito is a jazz quartet led by French trumpeter and composer Pierre-Antoine Savoyat, based in Brussels. Formed with pianist Simon Groppe, bassist Fil Caporali, and drummer Oscar Georges, the band blends introspective jazz with post-bop and classical influences. Their debut album, *Memories From a Winter Journey* (2023), is a deeply personal tribute to Savoyat’s mother, featuring rich orchestrations and contributions from guest musicians like saxophonist Ambroos de Schepper and a string quartet. Rooted in Burgundy and refined at Brussels’ Sounds Jazz Club, the quartet’s music emphasizes storytelling, improvisation, and emotional depth, drawing inspiration from artists like Wayne Shorter and Ambrose Akinmusire.
