Michael Cochrane has been a fixture of the New York jazz scene since 1974 as a pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. He has performed and recorded with Sonny Fortune, Eddie Gomez, Tom Harrell, Clark Terry, Michael Brecker, and many others, appearing at the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, and venues across Europe, Japan, and beyond. As a leader he has released more than ten albums, including Elements, Interplay, and Gesture of Faith. Rooted in modern jazz, his playing is sophisticated, melodic, and rhythmically rich. After five decades he remains an active performer, composer, and bandleader, bringing the experience of a lifetime in jazz to every performance.
