Oscar Georges
Oscar Georges began classical percussion at 12 at Lyon’s Conservatoire and jazz drums in 2009 at Barcelonnette’s “Enfants du Jazz” workshop. He studied with Guilhem Flouzat, Julien Loutelier, and Stéphane Foucher, opening for Robert Glasper Experiment in 2011. At Lyon’s CRR and ENM Villeurbanne, he trained with Jean Luc Rimey Meille and Michel Chionchini. Since 2012, he’s performed jazz, groove, and world music in Lyon clubs and taught drums. In 2013, he won a National Brass Band award. In 2014, he earned DEMs in percussion and jazz drums with his quintet, OG Loc Cinq Têtes, opening for Ben Wendel and others. Since 2015, he studies at Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles and Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with Thomas Grimmonprez, Lionel Beuvens, and Stéphane Galland, performing with various ensembles.
