Pierre Antoine Savoyat
Pierre-Antoine Savoyat is a French trumpeter, composer, and improviser born in Villefranche-sur-Saône. From a young age, he displayed musical talent, beginning cornet at the local conservatory and composing his first pieces by age eight. His curiosity led him to explore diverse styles, including jazz, classical, and improvisation. He earned triple DEM degrees in classical trumpet, jazz trumpet, and orchestral conducting from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Chalon-sur-Saône, later refining his jazz skills at the Koninklijke Conservatorium Brussel, where he graduated with distinction. Based in Brussels since 2016, Savoyat is a rising figure in the European jazz scene, leading his quartet Le Monde Merveilleux de Pépito and collaborating with artists like Aka Moon and Stéphane Galland. His work blends influences from Ambrose Akinmusire, Tom Harrell, and Leonard Bernstein, showcasing a unique, genre-spanning style.
