Simon Groppe

Simon Groppe is a French jazz pianist and percussionist from Metz, now based in Brussels. He began his musical studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz, earning diplomas in jazz piano and percussion. After further studies at the Conservatoire du Grand Nancy and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, he obtained a Bachelor’s in Jazz Performance (2018) and a Master’s from Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels under Diederik Wissels. Groppe is active in the Belgian jazz scene, performing with groups like Le Monde Merveilleux de Pépito, Goa Quartet (winning Best Soloist at XL Jazz Contest), and his own Drift trio. He also teaches piano and improvisation, emphasizing a progressive, jazz-based approach. His second solo album, Diving, reflects his eclectic influences and improvisational style.
