Tamer Temel •
Born in Istanbul, he studied Economics and began performing in jazz concerts during his university years. In 2005, after winning a prestigious scholarship as part of the European Jazz Festival, he studied at the renowned Siena Masterclass Summer Course in Italy and performed in concerts. Followingly, he also received training from acclaimed saxophonist Mark Turner.
In 2010, he released his self-titled debut album Barcelona with Dave Allen (guitar), Masa Kamaguchi (bass), and Marc Miralta (drums). In 2013, he released Bir Kedi Kara, featuring Serkan Özyılmaz (piano), Cem Aksel (drums), Volkan Topakoğlu (bass), Eylül Biçer (guitar), and Kenny Wollesen (vibraphone). At the end of 2016, he released Free Fall with Serkan Özyılmaz, Eylül Biçer, Matt Hall, and Volkan Öktem.
In 2018, he collaborated with Ercüment Orkut (piano) and Cem Aksel (drums) on the contemporary trio album Töz. In 2021, he released Kadıköy with Emre Tankal (guitar), Volkan Topakoğlu (bass), and Berke Özgümüş (drums). That same year, he composed and released the soundtrack for the film Yeniden Leyla. In 2022, he released Töz II in collaboration with Hezarfen Ensemble, blending contemporary jazz and chamber music.
He currently teaches jazz at Bahçeşehir University in Turkey.
